Spring is almost here and you know what that means. It’s time to whip your home into shape after the long winter. While you’re preparing for your big spring cleaning projects, take a look at these tips to help you turn your home into a sparkling paradise.

Kitchen Tips

In most houses, the kitchen is the heart of the home and that means it’s one of the rooms in your home that will need the most attention during. So, take your usual cleaning routine a few steps further. Use a combination of baking soda and warm water to tackle cleaning the inside of your appliances. That includes your fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and oven.  If you’ve noticed any unsavory odors, add vinegar to get rid of the bad smells.

Living Room Tips

There are some homes that have pristine living rooms with white furniture and coffee tables with perfectly arranged centerpieces. Then there is everyone else. The living room is for living in and that usually translates to a good bit of accumulated clutter. To start spring cleaning your living room, take the time to assess the things that are currently in your living room. Open up the drawers in your entertainment system and check the shelves. Does everything in these areas actually belong here? If not, remove them. If so, make sure to give them a designated home. Next clean your upholstery, dust the hard to reach areas, and deodorize your carpets and rugs.

Bedroom Tips

In your bedroom, the main goal is to swap out your fall and winter clothing and bedding for spring and summer wear. Wash and store your heavy bedding, then replace it with something light and breathable. Next, go through your closet, removing your winter wear. Heavy coats, jackets, and sweaters should be pulled out and stored away. Unpack your spring and summer clothes next. To give your bedroom a more peaceful environment, declutter your dresser and nightstand as well. Things like makeup or jewelry should be placed out-of-sight.

Bathroom Cleaning Tips

Time to scrub down your bathroom. You can start by making your own all-purpose cleanser with castile soap, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and lemon juice. You can use the cleaner on your floors, toilet, tub, and sink. If you have any grime around the seal of your tub use baking soda to scrub it away. If you have any clogged drains, you can clear them by sprinkling them with salt and following it up with boiling water to flush the clog out.
