FloydFest in Fredericksburg

FloydFest is a 5-day celebration of music and art nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. The music festival will bridge the gap between genres and cultures with over 50 performers over 10 stages. It will last from July 26th until July 30th and will bring together people from all over Virginia to watch their favorite bands perform.

It is located at milepost 170.5 off of the 80-acre mountain plateau where it will be held provides camping grounds, a progressive ‘Global Village’ area of workshops and demonstrations, and over 100 artisans and crafters. There will be food offerings ranging from pulled pork BBQ to fresh sushi and hand-churned ice cream, a comprehensive healing arts area, and a Children’s Universe. This will be an area featuring puppetry, workshops, playground equipment, babysitting services, and stage performances geared toward children!

FloydFest Lineup

Some of the biggest names coming to this year’s FloydFest include Thievery Corporation, Michael Fronti & Spearhead, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Rising Appalachia, Leftover Salmon, Steel Pulse, Railroad Earth, and Shovels & Rope. These bands range from reggae-rock to modern jazz to country & folk music. With all of these different genres, and bands hailing from all over the world, FloydFest is a sure fire win for many music fans. There will be charging stations, and local shops where you can buy some of these things if you need them, but you don’t want to be stuck on the campgrounds with no poison ivy cream! Also, if you bring rain gear, it’s much less likely to rain! So make sure you pack all of your essentials for this incredible 5-day music extravaganza!
